Kano State Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Yusuf Kofar-Mata lost three family members to a fire outbreak on Wednesday. Kofar-Mata, who narrowly escaped the disaster, lost his daughter, Maimuna, his elder sister Khadija, and a close relative Juwairiyya, a family source told The Guardian. The commissioner’s residence in the Kofar-Mata metropolis in Kano was gutted by fire early Wednesday while the family was asleep. Our correspondent gathered that several valuables were destroyed.
